Whitelines November Knockout Rail Jam – Tamworth
Whitelines November Knockout in association with iON – Tamworth a Snowboarding video by whitelines
10th November 2012:
Straight from the Westbeach ‘In and Out’ competition, only a day later my second very late night of competing was on. The Whitelines November Knockout Rail Jam kicked off the start of the tour at Tamworth Snowdome.
Despite the very late night starting at 10pm and not finishing until 1:30 am Sunday morning the event was amazing! The main whitelines rail was huge, it was nearly the size of me! It was a humungous down flat down rail and all the pros were hitting it including Andy Nudds and Ollie Dutton, I couldn’t resist, I had to give it a go.
It was soo scary dropping in to the tall rail but after I got down to the end for the first time, I loved it and couldn’t stop hitting it. I was riding with fellow Snozone team rider Orla Doolin as well as her good friend Rio Peterson. Also riding with us were local girl Helen Pigka and Hemel Hempstead regular Alise Balode.
For the jam session itself; I threw down a 50-50 to 180 onto the down, a boardslide through the whole rail and a 50-50 boardslide through the down and a 50-50 to frontside.
The next stage was the knockout phase, where riders would be pitched against each other in a two run elimination on the huge rail. I was against Helen Pigka and Orla Doolin had Rio Peterson to beat, Alise Balode had not made it through the initial stage. My two runs were good enough to knockout Helen and Orla having previously taken a nasty slam was taken out by Rio. In the final elimination of Rio and myself had three runs to throw down our best moves.
My first two runs didn’t end well as I came off the rail a bit early but in my last run I ‘stomped it’ landing a frontlip through the down flat down out switch! I was sooo stoked!! This led to me winning the Best Women overall from the whole night and I now have £100 in the bag and a brand new Ion Camera to play with!!
I was sooo stoked and had soo much fun!
A great format and a really exciting night, some huge fears for all the girls to overcome. Everyone was awesome and massive respect to all the girls for making it a wicked night.
You can read the full report of the night here See you all at the next one at Snozone Castleford next Friday BeXx xx
